Touch me not
Applique, Screen Print | 3x3 ft' | 2024
As the title suggests, “Touch Me Not” explores the delicate yet powerful connection between the plant and the woman, each reflecting the other’s qualities.
The sensitive plant’s instinctive withdrawal becomes a metaphor for emotional boundaries, vulnerability, and self-protection, while the woman embodies these same responses through her own lived experiences. Interwoven with this dialogue, octopus tentacles appear as predatory forces, symbolic of external pressures, threats, or invasive energies that attempt to penetrate these boundaries.
Together, these elements create a layered narrative about sensitivity, resilience, and the complex negotiations between self, touch, and survival.
